Theron + Gage | A Rescheduled Engagement Session That Was Worth the Wait

When winter storm Fern rolled through, Theron and Gage’s original engagement session date didn’t stand a chance. Ice, cold, and gray skies forced us to reschedule — but honestly? It just built the anticipation.

And let me tell you… they absolutely rocked their session.

We started off simple. One classic smiling-at-the-camera photo — you know, the one moms love. Right after that first shot, Theron laughed and asked if they could be done posing. That was my cue.

From that moment on, we ditched the stiff poses and leaned into movement, connection, and prompts that actually felt like them. Instead of “stand here and smile,” it became walking, whispering inside jokes, pulling each other in close, and just being together. The energy completely shifted, and that’s when the magic started happening.

Their chemistry made everything effortless. The way they looked at each other. It wasn’t about perfect posing — it was about capturing what they’re actually like.

And to make it even better? We pulled out the Yashica Mat-124 and shot a few frames on film. There’s something about medium format film that slows everything down in the best way. It feels intentional. Nostalgic. Timeless. Watching them lean into each other while hearing that soft click of the shutter — it was one of my favorite parts of the evening. I cannot wait to get the film developed!

Rescheduling because of a winter storm wasn’t the plan… but it ended up being exactly how it was supposed to be.

Theron and Gage, thank you for trusting me, embracing the prompts, and fully leaning into the fun. If this session is any indication, your wedding day is going to be an absolute dream.
