Harley’s Bridal Session in Charming Downtown Ruston

Harley’s bridal session in downtown Ruston was the perfect blend of timeless elegance and southern charm. From her stunning satin gown to the sunlit streets and historic backdrops, every detail came together beautifully. Take a peek at this dreamy session as we count down to her big day!

Harley’s bridal session was everything we hoped for—timeless, elegant, and full of southern charm. We spent the afternoon wandering through beautiful downtown Ruston, where every corner seemed to complement her effortless style and stunning bridal look.

Her satin gown was truly a showstopper. The way it caught the light with every step made it feel like it was made just for her. The simple elegance of the fabric highlighted her natural beauty and brought a modern yet classic vibe to each photo. Paired with her soft curls and radiant smile, Harley was the picture of grace.

Downtown Ruston gave us the perfect backdrop for this session—from historic brick buildings to tucked-away alleyways and sun-drenched sidewalks. Every scene told a piece of her story and captured the quiet excitement leading up to her big day.

Getting to photograph Harley in this setting felt like such a privilege. She exudes confidence, kindness, and elegance—and it all shone through in these images.

FILM Photos

We also captured a few portraits on film—and I’m completely obsessed with how they turned out. There’s something so nostalgic and romantic about film photography that brings an added layer of depth to already beautiful moments. The tones, the texture, the emotion—it all feels a little more timeless. These frames quickly became some of my absolute favorites from the day. There’s just something so special about film. To me, it feels like it freezes time in a way that digital never quite can.

Chapman and Harley simply couldn’t wait to start their forever. Though they had originally booked me to capture their wedding day later on, their love story had other plans. They decided to sneak away for an intimate ceremony—just the two of them (and me behind the lens). It was such a special moment to witness and document. The way they looked at each other was pure magic—undeniably full of love, tenderness, and excitement for the life ahead.

Later, they gathered with family and friends to celebrate their union with a beautiful reception at Hodge United Pentecostal Church. Harley spent the afternoon getting ready with her mom and a close friend, soaking in those quiet, meaningful moments. Chapman arrived toward the end of the prep and lovingly helped her with the finishing touches, including slipping on her shoes—such a sweet and thoughtful gesture.

The reception was filled with joy, laughter, and meaningful details. Their wedding cake was a stunning three-tiered heart-shaped design, and Chapman’s groom’s cake? A delicious cookie cake that guests couldn’t get enough of!

Chapman and Harley’s day was a perfect reflection of who they are—romantic, genuine, and full of love. I’m so honored to have been part of it.

Joyce & Chad’s Fun-Filled Engagement Session | Love & Laughter in Every Frame

When Joyce first reached out to me about capturing their engagement photos, she mentioned something many couples can relate to—her fiancé, Chad, wasn’t exactly thrilled about being in front of the camera. In fact, she specifically requested a shorter session, opting for the midi session to keep things simple and stress-free.

But let me tell you… Chad completely surprised us all!

From the moment they arrived at our location, Chad confessed he was hesitant about photos because he never knew what to do in them. Totally understandable, right? But once we got things rolling—adding a little movement, natural conversation, and some laughs—Chad came to life. He had us laughing the entire time and, by the end of the session, it felt like he was the star of the show!

What started as a quick shoot turned into one of the most joyful, lighthearted engagement sessions. The love and chemistry between Joyce and Chad is undeniable, and watching them interact so naturally made my job an absolute joy.

I couldn’t be happier for these two—it's so clear they’re meant for each other. Capturing their love was such a privilege, and I can't wait to see what the future holds for them!

Maggie + Zach

Fun Fact! 🦌 Hunting is what brought Maggie + Zach together — how cool is that? I loved hearing their story during their engagement session! (I may or may not have gotten the story on video so be watching out for those instagram reels!)

We went back and forth all week wondering if the weather would hold out, but thankfully it worked in our favor. It did sprinkle for a few minutes, but we were lucky to have the gorgeous White Oak Venue in Ruston, LA to duck into while the rain passed. Honestly, it made the whole session feel even more cozy and romantic!

So glad we got to capture these sweet moments — can’t wait to celebrate Maggie + Zach on their big day!

CRISANNA + CLAYTON (+DUTTON)

I had so much fun with Clayton and Crisanna during their engagement session. I cannot wait for their wedding in October! We started their session in Downtown Ruston and finished in the most beautiful field with tall grass. They also had a family member bring their sweet puppy, Dutton.

OH! And Crissana and Clayton are my first couple to have film photography added to their session. I shot on two different film cameras. if you make it to the end of the post, you will see some images from the medium format Yashica Mat-124 film camera.

Sweet Dutton was the goodest boy! He loved all of the attention he was getting. (And all of the treats)

Now lets have a minute for the film photos…

I am literally obsessed with these images. The following images were shot on a Yashica Mat-124. This camera is from 1968, y’all! 1968!!!!! And it still takes great images. There is something about these that just feel so timeless. I want all of my brides to add film to their packages now. I am completely obsessed!

I absolutely loved getting to shoot their engagements. I absolutley loved getting to watch Harley and Chapman interact. You can tell they are both so in love with each other.

We started our session in Downtown Ruston and finished in a beautiful field with tall flowy grass.

We also have some really cool film images on their way but they had to be developed first. I cannot wait for those to come back so I can share them with you! (We actually shot some with the camera that you see Harley and Chapman holding in some of these pictures)
