Emarie’s Bridals at Hotel Monroe | Monroe, Louisiana

When I tell you that I have literally been so excited to share Emarie’s bridal portraits...

I mean it.

I have known Emarie for years. Long before I was photographing this season of her life, she was one of my models when I photographed for HerringStone’s in Monroe. So when she reached out to tell me that she and Layton were engaged—and that she wanted me to photograph their wedding—I was SO excited.

There is just something extra special about getting to photograph someone through different seasons of life, and seeing Emarie as a bride was one of those full-circle moments for me.

Then Emarie sent me her inspiration board for her bridal session.

Y’all.

I swooned.

Everything about the vision felt elevated, timeless, editorial and just a little bit unexpected. And the second we started talking locations, I knew exactly where I wanted to take it.

I had been dying to photograph a bridal session at Hotel Monroe in historic Downtown Monroe, Louisiana, and it absolutely did not disappoint.

From the moment we walked in, there were beautiful little pockets everywhere we looked. The textures, architecture, natural light and carefully designed interiors gave us so much variety while still keeping the entire gallery cohesive.

It was the perfect backdrop for Emarie.

Emarie absolutely brought her inspiration board to life. Her dress, the setting, the details—it all came together even better than I had imagined.

These are the kinds of bridal sessions that remind me why I love them so much. Yes, we are creating beautiful portraits of you in your wedding dress, but we also get the freedom to slow down, play with different locations and create something that feels completely separate from the pace of the wedding day.
